2623 DDU

I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has a T60P, and is running Vista.
I need a new mpcie WiFi card for my 2623 DDU. Currently I have a problematic Intel 3945 abg. This particular card is susceptible to a number of problems in Vista, with no good driver available. Additionally, my card is likely failing.
The version 10.x drivers Have a tendency to drop the connection, forcing a hard reset of the adapter, and the version 11.x drivers also are unstable, forcing a reboot of the whole system.
I know that there is also an IBM Atheros abg card that supposedly will support my 2623 DDU, but I'm not sure.
There are also n cards available that supposedly will work with my model, but they may require a modded BIOS, which I'm reluctant to do. Also, at this time, I need to stick with Vista SP2, which by the way has been rock solid and fast for me, with the exception of this issue.
Any solid information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Interesting. I had a R60 running Vista with the same card. I never had any problems with it. Perhaps it's your particular card that's having trouble.

Could be, Fred. I just don't know.
I know that on the IBM/Lenovo website there is a documented problem with drivers for this card that can promote a memory parity error, and not just with Vista..
When I searched on the web for a source of this card, I ran across reviews of it, which I essentially recapitulated in my post... the problem with Vista drivers for this card. I know that I'm experiencing a combination of both driver issues, and the high possibility that my card is problematic.
So I'm wondering if there is an n card that has been shown to work for my computer-OS combination without BIOS modding.
Given the fact that the Intel card was designed pre-Vista, it would make sense that a later generation card would be designed to potentially work better with Vista and Windows 7.
Thanks for your response.

If you want anything other than an IBM-issued wifi card, you will have to mod your BIOS.
I'm successfully using an Intel Advanced 6200N card, which is a half-size MiniPCIe card, combined with a bracket, to fill the gap. Got these in a T61 and an X60s.

My buddy has a T60p with Vista Buss and that intel card and never had any problems.I'm running the same card in my T60 with Win 7 and works great.
Gives a good strong wi-fi single.
RealBlackStuff , tell me more about the intel 6200N card. Like to try and get "N" in my T60.

Well, I spent some time with a really good tech support chap at Intel. Turns out that there were a number of drivers after 11.x...up to 13.x.....obviously designed for Vista and 7. Windows Update never produced that driver, and I only recently installed the Lenovo Update service, so possibly it might have eventually popped up.
After a complete uninstall of previous drivers, and an install of version 13.x, things seem to be pretty stable sp far.
Thanks for all the responses.
