Thermopad in T61 discrete graphics cooling system - size ?

Hello.

Recently I was cleaning my cooling system because of terrible noise. When I remove cooling system I was a little suprise that on part which cool down Chipset is some kind of rubber, yes it was thermopad. I was a little confused cause I didn't thougth that to installing cleaned cooling system I was needing a thermopad. In any video or instruction, I watched non-discrete graphic cooling system. I bought one but a 1,5 mm high. Now my CPU temp is about 40 *C but GPU temp is about 65 *C (Arctic Ceramique). I'm not sure but I think that 1,5 mm thermopad raise a cooler to high. I'm hope that it will short a little a the GPU temp will be lower.

What do U think about height of thermopad on chipset?

ThX for any advise and answers, and sorry for EN. ;)

I use 1.5 mm pads on the northbridge. Sometimes you need to bend the tabs a little on the clip that pushes down on the GPU end of the heatsink. Also, if you get a modem cable wire trapped under the heatsink, it won't lie flat.

ThX for answer.

Anyway I will try with 1 mm thermopad (on chipset) and Arctic Silver 5 (on CPU and GPU). Will see what happen. ;D

edit:
What can I say - 1 mm thermopad from Phobya do the job and Arctic Silver too. ;D
In idle: CPU ~45, GPU ~48, PCI ~42, PWR ~39 (in *C from TPFanControl).

Belive me, it's much better than before. ;D
