Resume from sleep

#1 Post by BootSectorVirus » Sat Aug 06, 2011 10:43 am

New T60 user here, please excuse me for this noob question.

I used fn+F4 to put it to sleep, but it will not come out of sleep using the power button or anything else I can find, what am I missing?

Should I close the lid and reopen it?

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

Press the Fn key and hold it for just a second.

D'oh!

Thanks much!

One more question I have bios version 1.10 (79et66ww), should I upgrade to 2.27, I have no issues but would like to know if there are any advantages, thanks for your time.

If you don't know the details I can start a new topic on the issue.

I'm of the opinion that, "if something works, don't fix it". The BIOS revision history will give you an idea of what was changed between versions. Consult the notes and see if you are having any problems that are fixed with the newer updates or if there's some added function you would like to implement. If not, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

edit: One word of caution though... I would choose to use the CD-based update instead of the Windows-based update. It's much safer to use a separate boot disk when doing this procedure.

Thanks for the reminder, Flashing from Windows makes me cringe to even think about it.

Agree if it ain't broke don't flash it.

Unfortunately I cannot find previous versions of the bios to read all of the revision changes along the way from 1.10 to 2.27
