USB 3.0 Expresscard 54mm doesn't fit?

Hi everyone, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 type 7663-2EG and bougt an Express card 54mm To 2 Port USB 3.0 expresscard from AKE sold on Amazon.
It doesn't fit, I thought my T61 had an 54mm expresscard slot, it seems like exactly the size of my usb 3.0 card...
Im a bit confused with the cardbus expresscard 34 54 mm all the differences...

T61 could be configured with either a 54mm ExpressCard slot, a flash memory card reader or a SmartCard reader. Regardless of this, every model has an older CardBus slot -- this is not what you need. You need the 54mm ExpressCard slot option located above the CardBus slot.

Hi Yak, thanks for your reply.
I have a small sled under the bigger one, which is smaller in size. I think a creditcard would just fit in so I guess I have a smartcard under and a cardbus slot up.
Do you know if I can change this? Is this hard to do?

You need P/N 42X3827 (PC Card/ExpressCard slot), as well as 42W2510 (PC Card/ExpressCard slots bezel)
As per HMM, you need to take the motherboard and subframe out to swap those parts.

aha, but do I get a 54mm expresscard slot then or a 34mm?
Otherwise my USB 3.0 is still useless..

T61/R61 have ExpressCard/54, so you'd be good to go.
