I am trying to install a new HD in my T60 New drive is a WD160GB/5K 8M SATA2 WD1600BEVT. Old drive was a Fujitsu MHV2080BH SATA 80.GB.
When I install the new HD and boot up and drop the Win XP Pro CD in, everything looks ok until it goes to load Windows and then it tells me the TPad can't detect the HD. This even happens when I install the old HD and have the WIN XP Pro CD in the drive. Am I missing something here or what?
Answer:
Enter BIOS, F1 at boot, in the Config Menu set the SATA to Compatability Mode instead of AHCI. You can install the SATA driver after XP is installed by downloading and installing it from the T60 driver site
