This was not a planned purchase. I was searching around for stuff and hit ebay. A couple clicks later I came to this laptop auction. It was 2 minutes until expiration, looked good, and a fair price so I pulled the trigger and won. Dont let anyone tell you that bid sniping at 3am doesnt pay off.

Like-new physical condition. Whoever had this before rarely used it, or took care of it exceptionally well. Might even have been a refurbished display model.

1.84 ghz intel centrino core two duo
2 gig ram
60 gig hdd
on-board phone modem, ethernet port, and wireless.
intel on-board graphics (plays all 2D games very well but chokes on 3D games requiring textures and shaders).
15.1" LCD

first thing i want to ask is if i got a good deal - i think i did by some web searching.

next, where do i go to learn about this puppy ?

I want to know all about it.

also, what OS do y'all recommend ?

I am partial to windows xp so I may go with that for now. My main system is windows 7 64 bit. I liked xp way better but that end-of-life microsoft thing is looming with xp, so ...

lastly, I have about all the drivers loaded but one item comes up in device nmanager with no drivers loaded for .. cant figure out wehat the hell it is as it jsut shows a generic hardware entry. "Other Devices > Unknown Device". Any ideas ? This thing came with no paperwork. Just the lappy, battery, and power cord.

Welcome to the forum. Actually this is probably the best place to learn about your T60. Here's a link to the advanced forum search on google. Start with a search for 'System Update'. It will help you with your driver issues. Have fun.

Actually, the screen is 14.1" 1024x768. Assuming that $152.00 includes shipping, this is a very good deal.

ok got the device all figured out. It was the Atmel TPM device driver.
