ultrabay incompatibility

I bought an Ultrabay Caddy for a SATA drive from Lenovo for my t61p. It has a plastic tab spacer in the back preventing it from sliding all the way in.
Did they send wrong part or is there variation in t61p Thinkpads in the field?

There is no variation. What is the exact Ultrabay caddy that you bought?

The part is labeled ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III.
The part is labeled with two part numbers:
FRU P/N 43N3429 and
ASM P/N 43N3428
However, the box it came in is marked P/N 43N3412
I am wondering if there was a packaging mix-up at Lenovo.
I need an adapter that will hold a SATA drive and will work in a 15" t61p, 6457 AK7

That adapter is for a T510 / W510. You want FRU 40Y8725 for a T61 or a T61P...fits in a T60 too.
