hi folks
did someone ever changed the dc jack on a T60 T60p T61 or T61p and is able to give some hints?
i bought a new dc jack and i disassembled the whole machine, i fixed the single screw at the bottom side but the dc connection is still unstable and the dc jack unfirm again.
would be great if someone has the one or other solution.
thank you in advance for anything you might return!

Are you saying that the jack wiggles again? If yes, you didn't tighten that screw enough. There is no magic fix. Either it is tight or it isn't.

thank you for your reply!
yes it wiggles again.
i have tighten the little single srew as much as i nearly broke my fingers

... joking
well, i have no idea why it can`t be fixed ... i also wonder how it can be possible at all because even if the power plug is connected firmly to the dc jack there is this ongoing unstable connectivity?!? as you said, there should be no magic ...
maybe the skrew is to be underlaid with a shim or something? ...

Have you checked that your power supply DC cable and DC-plug are OK?
Don't immediately blame the DC connector!

Agree with RealBlackStuff - On several on occasions I have come across worn/loose DC power adapter plugs that do not fit firm (excessive play) within the DC connector socket - (after confirming that DC connector socket has been fully secured to the structure frame via the single locking screw so that there is no movement etc).

it was the power adapter cable which was broken.
