Make XP T60 (re)bootable without needing to login

I want to do this because the machine is presently my server. Updates are automatic and frequently require a reboot, which happens automatically. At present, if the machine is sitting at a login screen, its data is inaccessible by other machines on my LAN. So, in an effort to make reboots happen unattended, I've installed TweakUI, which I believe allows you to set this up. However, when I go to User Accounts and click --> Change the way users log on or off, I'm informed that a recently installed program is preventing me from accessing this functionality and I should uninstall it if I want to do so. It then indicates that the file tvt_gina.dll is involved with this program, i.e. this is presented as a hint! A bit of searching indicates that it's a Lenovo program, I don't know which one.

Well, what is tvt_gina.dll, can I work around this problem? At present, the embedded security chip is evidently enabled. Do I have to disable it for my purposes? This machine has a fingerprint reader. It's not important to me that the FR works, I can just as easily login using my password, but I don't want to have to login more than necessary so that my LAN stays live.

If I understand correctly what you want, you may need to run "control.exe userpasswords2". This is the "classic" user accounts manager which allows you to remove the login requirements. Not sure if the security chip may also be an issue.

Also see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231 to enter a default username and password in the registry manually.
