T60 no image when turned on

Hello,
I bought an untested T60 to tinker with, received it today and it turns on (LED's are lit, HDD is making some noises) but i get no image.
No image on the LCD, and with an external TFT connected and after pressing Fn + F7 still no image. I have RAM and HDD installed, and hear no beeps.
I also grabbed a flashlight and pointed it towards the screen, because maybe the backlight is defective, but i couldn't see any image on the screen, so i think the mainboard is fried.
The T60 is an 2007-VG2:

It has a big scratch / dent right under the PC Card / ExpressCard slot, maybe this has broken the mainboard? I am definately going to take it further apart to clean it and check the mainboard, but maybe one of you could give me some tips to try getting it back to lifeBased on 2007-CTO: T2400(1.83GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1400x1050 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X1300, CDRW/DVD, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro
