windows 7 clean install BSOD

Just scored myself a T61p from Kuwait!

Type: 6457 CTO
ProductId: 6457 WYE

I can't seem to find anything with such model on the Lenovo site. Please enlighten me with any info you know about this particular model! Thanks!

Currently, it has windows vista 32 bit. When I attempt to boot from USB to install windows 7 64 bit, I get BSOD. Here's the video or youtube. Anyone got experience on how to overcome this hurdle? Please enlighten!

Also, you guys know if I can get MOBO replaced according to BREAKING NEWS: T61 nVidia thinkpads now being repaired N/C . I'm from Australia.

For the BSOD switch the SATA to compatibility mode in BIOS/configuration. (F1 on boot to get into BIOS) I don't believe the replacement program is in effect, but you can read this thread for the latest information;

Yep, tried BIOS -> Config -> Serial ATA (SATA) -> compatibility mode, still no love.

Curiously though, a windows 7 32bit USB loads up fine ?!?! No errors on loading installer regardless of AHCI or compatibility mode for SATA. USB drive is corrupted? But I installed with that same USB on another computer?

Edit: reburn 64bit ISO onto USB, set SATA to compatibility, bam! lots of love to go around!!!!!!
