Hi all!
I finally got my T60!
I bought it for $190 TOTAL (including S&H) with the specs below and its in great mint condition!
I am planing on upgrading it to following specs:
-Core 2 Duo 2GHz
-4GB DDR2 667MHz
-250GB 7200RPM HDD
It will cost me about $90
Do you guys think that its worth it?
Can I expect a speed increase in normal use and 3D applications?
***Some questions to T60 owners***
Does the T60 plastic crack easily?
After some heavy 3D apps the temp reaches 75* Celsius. IS that tooo hot?
What are some other issues that you may have encountered with the T60?
I loive this machine!!!
Appreciate all replys!!!

Why do you make a new thred asking the same question again as you did in your thread T60 questions?? I really see no point in doing this?! What questions remain unanswered?

I've upgraded two T60p, and I can assure you it is worth it.
"*" denotes upgraded.
T60p 2007 WUK
FireGL V5200
CPU T7600 *
RAM 4GB (only 3GB recognized) *
Intel SSD 80GB *
BOE Hydis HV150UX1-100 *
ALPS Keyboard (could not find another NOS/NIB NMB keyboard) *
TouchPad (new) *
Battery 6 Cell *
OS Win7 Home Premium 64Bit *
& All serviceable parts ie COS Battery, Power Adapter/Power socket, worn panels, heat-sink & fan, whole new set of screws, etc etc etc.
T60p 2008 HA8
FireGL V5250
CPU T7600 *
RAM 4GB (only 3GB recognized) *
SSD OCZ Vertex 120GB *
Atheros AR5BXB72 AR5008 Wireles Card *
Screen LG LP150E205 (A2)(K1) SXGA+ (CCFL replacement) *
NMB Keyboard (NOS) *
TouchPad *
Battery 6 Cell *
OS Win7 Home Premium 64Bit *
& All serviceable parts ie COS Battery, Power Adapter/Power socket, worn panels, heat-sink & fan, whole new set of screws, etc etc etc.
I would like to reiterate that it is definitely worth it. The second time was even more satisfying, knowing that the resulted laptop is better than the first upgrade.
NB: I previously tried AS5 but now am using Shin-Etsu X23-7783D, the temperature range is approximately between 42-67 as detailed from CoreTemp, I cannot vouch for the accuracy. The most important thing about TIM is the application, not the type/make of material.

Say - Do you have any tiny cracks on your T60 in the plastic?
The plastic feels almost to thin and everytime i open up the screen, im scared that the tight hinges will crack the base plastic or something else! :/

Bases/frames do crack on T60s, so be careful...apart from that, they are very well-built machines.
As for the upgrades...
RAM is a must...3GB or 4GB, your call - it will use only 3GB regardless.
T7200/7400/7600...only if you can find it under the market price. The difference in performance is not that stunning. I've got both T2500 and T7600 in daily use, and for most purposes it's about the same.
SSD...probably the single most important upgrade, as will feel like it added more oooomph than anything else. Not really necessary for XP, highly recommended for W7.
Have fun.

Thanks!

I have 1 last question:
Is it normal that there is a verry verry light bump at the power connector when you look at it from straight above?
It sticks out about 1-2mm.
Here is a image from the spot!
If you look straight from the top onto your closed t60, can you see the bump too?
I highlighted the spot:
I just want to make shure that its not adamage.

thanks!
