Drip symbol?
Drip symbol?
On the bottom of my T60 there are two holes, but not with screws. By each hole is a keyboard symbol and what looks like a drip symbol. Surely this is not to drain liquids! What is the symbol's meaning?

Re: Drip symbol?
Actually it is marking the drainage holes which are supposed to drain accidently spilled liquids. See here for some information:Wayne wrote:Surely this is not to drain liquids! What is the symbol's meaning?

Re: Drip symbol?
I am looking for some real life spill tests, something like a spilling at an angle, or hot liquids like coffee. I am sure it would do well, but wonder how much is too much.

Re: Drip symbol?
I wouldn't want to trust this at all. After having swapped keyboards numerous times, I doubt that the keyboard is sealed enough to prevent spilling over any liquids over it's edges, given a slightly to high quantity of any liquid.hyde wrote:I am looking for some real life spill tests, something like a spilling at an angle, or hot liquids like coffee. Re: Drip symbol?
Those holes are the ports to oil/lubricate the keyboard through... J/K!
There may be a limit to the volume and rate of liquid poured into the keyboard but it would probably survive most spills that would occur. I'm sure coffee was tested as that's usually next to most businessmen. It at least stands a good chance unlike my wife's super fast quad core Macbook Pro. On one of the mac forums, the top sticky is what to do if you spill on your keyboard. The general prognosis isn't pretty and you've got to be super quick and super lucky to make it out alive from a spill on this puppy!

Re: Drip symbol?
50 ml is the holding capacity for the keyboard, so don't get more than that on the keyboard. This is for accidental spill not for you conventional stuff.
