T60 Hinge Sunk

Hey guys :)
My poor T60's hinge has technically 'sunk'. I'm now looking at what to replace to get it back to normal.
At the moment, it looks like the structure frames cracked at the point where it joins to the bit that you insert the hinges to.
When you open the lid, it pulls the hinges along with part of the structure frame back.
I've included photos for reference. Sorry for the horrible image quality, its a terrible camera.

Welcome to the forum.
You'll need a new frame to fix your problem.
What's the type/model of your machine?
7-character code on a sticker on the bottom, looks like TYPE 2007-47U.
There's also a PRODUCT ID underneath, what is that?
If it's 2007-CTO (or any other CTO), what's the size of the LCD?

Thanks, I was just confirming that it was the structure frame. I know which parts to get, this has happened before heaps of times, but the hinge has never sunk. For reference though, it's the 2007-BH6. If I recall right, I need the 41W6350. Only problem with that.... is that the previous ones all came broken from ebay :(

Just a quick question, how would a broken frame cause the hinge to sink? It also looks like the back cover of the LCD needs replacing.... it looks like its bending outwards... is this because of the frame?

Thanx.

The chances are that it may be bent inside the LCD but not the lid itself. If it was a lid problem you'd see a crack from the outside. The hinge is screwed to the side of the LCD panel. Other than that advice, you really need to take the laptop apart to see exactly what's needed.

Hmm.... nothing special inside the LCD. Although... I found that the LCD wasn't screwed into the hinges properly. Screwing them in however, made no effect. The LCD is good, so is the hinges and front bezel. Guess what? I took off the back cover and placed it on a flat surface... and tah-dah! it's curved to the center somehow. So at the moment, i'm looking at a new frame and a new cover. Oh well... at least my laptop will look new again :P
