T61 no power, no lights

I have a T61 7663-13U which it worked fine when i got it a few days ago, and i was able to install windows without a problem. after powering it on/off a few times and unplugging it, it no longer receives any power at all whether on battery, AC, or both. I tried the "hold the power button down" and "press the power button x times" things, neither worked. the only thing that did work once was unplugging the cmos battery. the computer turned on and worked fine, but when i shut it off to plug the battery back in, the computer never turned on again.

it may have the bad nvidia GPU, but even if that was the problem, the computer should still power on and either sit at a black screen, or beep. the AC adapter and battery are working with a similar T61.

Yes, you gave that lousy nVidia GPU:
ThinkPad T61 (7663-13U)
T7500(2.2GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in 1440x900 LCD, 128MB nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11agn(n-disabled) wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, FPR, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32

Try the adapter and battery from the other machine in yours. What happens?

same thing. i've tried 2 working AC adapters and a working battery, and no lights will come on at all. i wasn't able to get a partial refund (thanks, ebay bucks...) so i have to send it back, but i'm going to see if the motherboard is original or replaced.

i think the date is 2008, 9th week, so it's one of the bad ones. still strange how no lights turn on.
