[SOLVED] Driver problem with X40 touchscreen

#1 Post by alb404 » Fri Nov 04, 2011 6:20 am

Hi there,

My father gave me his old X40 to play with. It's a lovely machine and I'm very happy with it.
The screen has an extra touchscreen feature and it was working fine when I got it from my father. I had to restore the system, and now the touch feature of the screen is not working. I've looked up on the net, here and on IBM/Lenovo's website with no luck. It seems like the touch function on this model is an optional addon.

Do you guys know where I can get the drivers for the touch screen?

And, as a bonus question, I've installed a bluetooth module but there was no antenna cable to plug in the child card. Am I supposed to mount an antenna myself ? Where can I buy such an antenna?

Thanks to the community for any help provided :)

Not sure if you gave the correct model, so here goes:
Drivers X40/X41: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/researc ... MIGR-54078
Drivers X41 Tablet: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/researc ... MIGR-67100
HMM X40: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-53683
HMM X41: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-59181
HMM X41T: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-60073

You need to separately install the BT antenna (if available/possible). Check the HMM.
Check our Marketforum for parts (put in a want-to-buy = WTB ad), or Fleabay.

Hi,
Thank you for the answer. The model I have is a X40. It seems like it has a touch screen overlay. I can't seem to find any suitable drivers for the touch screen in the links you gave me. I can't see any info about this functionality in the HMM pdf.

In my hardware maintenance window, I can see a USB Device with a question mark. It's properties say 'no driver installed'. I guess that's the one, but the automatic update can't find any appropriate drivers ...

For the BT antenna, that's what I thought. Thanks.

Ok. I fixed it through PM with "automobus".

Here is the outcome :
Touch screen overlay on my x40 is a DMC TSC-10.

After driver installation, everything is back to normal.

Thanks to the TP community. I think I'll soon sell my Macbook and upgrade to a newer TP as my main laptop ;)
