After experiencing dropping network connections under Windows XP I've upgraded to Windows 7. The laptop is running nicely, and everything is working (including audio), except the microphone. This is a little frustrating as I use Skype for work.
When I look the recording devices, the microphone is listed as currently unavailable:

No devices appear to be disabled in the device manager:

When I first installed Windows 7, it was a bit of a struggle getting some programs up and running. Audio was an issue, and I believe the drivers came down via Windows update (although I also tried installing the ones from the Lenovo website, I'm not sure now which actually worked).
I'm at a loss for what else to do, except go back to Windows XP - but I'm reluctant to do this as Windows 7 is working a lot better than I expected and fixed the previous problem with wireless networking via different PCMCIA cards. Any thoughts as to what else I can try?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!
Regards,
Stu.
