Adding SSD drive to an X200 w/out original installation disk

My x200 has got horribly slow so I want to make the switch to SSD and was wondering which was the best way to go about it.

Unfortunately, the original installation disks are long gone so I was hoping for advice for the easiest way to change the drives and get everything working.

If I make a recovery DVD/USB flash stick what procedure should I follow for getting the OS onto the new SSD?

When I had my X200 with SSD, I disliked having everything on the external. Something like the Seagate Momentus XT might be worth a look. It's a hard drive with a flash drive attached. Once it figures your usage patterns, it offers near SSD performance, plus you'd have a lot of space left over.

What's your goal? Do you want do a clean install of Windows, migrate your current drive over or return it to the factory state?

My X200 has become painfully slow so I'm hoping that a reinstall and a SSD will speed things up. I don't need tons of storage, so something like a 128GB SSD drive would be ample.
