Looking for comments on the KingSpec or Transcend SSDs

#1 Post by SailingAway » Tue Sep 25, 2012 6:41 am

Hi,

I'm in the process of replacing the original drive in my X40 with a SSD. I did a quick search on ebay for "x40 kingspec" and was surprised to find a large number of 16GB KingSpec SSDs available. If you have one of these models, can you provide some feedback on your experience? I understand Transcend also makes SSDs for the X40 but I haven't been able to much much info on those.

Please include the model number of the SSD in your reply.

Thanks.

If memory serves me well I recall reading quite a lot of feedback regarding these Kingspecs, most of them on the negative side IIRC, take a closer look to the threads in this sub forum, specially on the sticky one.

I personally skipped them, all my modded HDs and SSDs are ZIF models.
