is x32 a quiet laptop

#1 Post by LeonQ » Fri Apr 29, 2005 12:59 am

hello, guys, I was tortured enough by the noise fan of my t43, I decided to return it, now I am looking for a x32 instead, I am wondering if x32 a quiet laptop, and is there any "issue" with x32? Thanks for any input.

Rather than the X, if you like the T43 but had to return due to noise, why not check out the T42? Performance is about the same, they are considerably cheaper, and except for the PCI-E video and PCI-E slot, neither of which make much difference at this point, there really is little to no performance benefit.

The T42 is proven, and is usually quiet (my T42p fan only comes on during heavy gaming).

Just a thought.

If don't have a T43, but I do have an X32. Noise is a subjective matter (aside from measuring db levels). My guess is that the slower the procesor, the less noisy the laptop would be (since the fan is only on for heat issues). Our X40 is slient (aside from hdd clicks) and quieter than the X32, but the X32 is also very quiet.

If noise is a top priority, then you should consider a X40 with a 1.2ghz cpu.

The X40 is quiet (fan not running) unless using WLAN and Bluetooth.
