ssd in x31

Did anyone try installing a SATA SSD HHD in a x31? I have been thinking of doing so by using one of these adapters:

Did anyone have any experiences using these converters?

There won't be enough space to fit anything else + a 2.5 inch drive into the main drive bay.
You could try using a smaller form-factor SATA SSD, though, such as 1.8 inch or mSATA, with a corresponding adapter.

Even if the ssd sticks out of the compute, this will do for me... I happen to have one 2.5 ssd that I though to use in the X31, but I was concerned about the adapters not being able to handle the data transfer rate...

Even if the adapter can handle the transfer rates, you'll get stuck with the IDE speeds of your X31...
