X41 stuck WIN7 update - can't stop it
X41 running WIN7. Had to reinstall WIN7 Pro, booted OK, working OK. Installed Updates from Microsoft (a bunch). On restart, it is "Stuck" installing update 35 of 53. Screen is active (wheel spinning, etc.) but it has been on the same screen 4 hours. Tried turning off, removing battery, but it returns to same screen. How can I get it out of this loop?

try leaving it for ages (1 day) with the lid shut, or try pressing alt + F4 and ctrl. alt del etc..

Also have you done a surface scan on your HDD to check its not damaged?

@ganon11000:
closing your laptop lid for a day does absolutely SQUAT.
And neither does ctrl-alt-del without further instructions...

Its worked wonders for me (if auto sleep is on) and it was a program not shutting (hence the alt F4) its worth trying if you having yet!
Stupid question: have you tried safe mode (keep tapping F8 upon it booting till a menu appears)
