x41 DELAYED UNTIL JULY!!!!

1. i ordered my X41 on APRIL 14
2. estimated shipping date was MAY 11
3. on May 11 status said "PACKING"
4. Today I get this notice:

We apologize, but shipment of ... your IBM order XXXXX, has been delayed. We now estimate that all items in your order will be shipped by 07/04/05.

July 4!!

bumps in transition highway..

just think, in july you can change your order to an X41 tablet..

i know i will..

My IBM (I mean Lenovo) rep says the IBM->Lenovo transition was mishandled and Customs is now holding up a ton of machines and making Lenovo redo paperwork -- and that this is causing numerous delays. My guy had 10 orders rescheduled (a month or more) on Friday alone.

Including of course mine. April order, now July forecast delivery.

I hope what you say is not true, because I ordered this last Wednesday and i want my laptop!! I checked on UPS and it says it is already shipped?

Yes, my X40 said it would ship in a few weeks but in fact shipped within 3 days. THey are like Dell, they say they will ship in 4 weeks but often times they have it out in a few days! Just sit tight.

the X40s is the "older" version, which may be in stock from IBM. The x41 is the new model which is made by Lenovo, designed by IBM. 1/3 of employee in asia have left since this transition. They are hiring new guys to manufacture the new stuff.

Re: Customs:

My CD/DVD Combo Drive for the X41 was delayed in customs due to "no paperwork." Shipped from HK.

If that's true that a lot of the employees left the company, I'll have to really check what they are sending me and make sure everything is working as speced.

not as bad as 7/4. if it's july, i think i will just change my order to the x40.

My rep avoided me today on the phone, but did send me an e-mail that he was looking into my order and asked me to call tomorrow to find out the current status. I'll update then.
