Have to say, it looks quite nice. Wonder how the screen is for clarity when using in laptop mode...

This makes my day, quite a gorgeous piece.

For all those who have problems with streaming ASX files and windows media buffering, you can grab SDP and input the URL http://www.brin.com/demo/demo12/thinkpad.asx to download it.

Woah... I always wondered if a program like SDP existed. I've never been able to find one and since gave up on it because of about MMS was never actually documented. I always prefer to use winamp to play stuff, but was never able to find an alternative to windows media for MMS.

Classic quote as the guy is explaining the on-screen buttons:

"Other buttons at the base of the screen include...a Ctrl+Alt+Del key, to bring up the Windows login."

As he said that last part his voice trailed off and his eyes lowered, as if he didn't even believe himself.

yeah i wondered about that 'feature'. Why would you need when using it in a tablet situation?

Windows can be configured to require a Ctrl-Alt-Del to log in. (FWIW, this is the default for NT 3.1 through NT 4. 2000 made it default no longer, but that can be fixed) This is better for security, because the kernel is the only program allowed to handle a three-finger salute (IIRC). Then, the kernel makes [censored] SURE Windows is using it's own login app.

On a laptop (or this in laptop mode), of course, you can press Ctrl-Alt-Del, just like normal.

However, in tablet mode, do you REALLY want to have to open the keyboard just to give it the Vulcan pinch? For that reason, there's a Ctrl-Alt-Del button on the bezel of almost every tablet.

Im sure you will be able to use the thinkpad configurator to reprogram the button to do a bunch of other - perhaps more usefull - things..
