X32 Hibernation & Standby Modes

#1 Post by rayfranco » Thu Jun 09, 2005 2:54 pm

When I first got my X32 - 2885 K4U with the power manger set on max battery, and running from the battry, it would go into standby after 5 minutes of non-use, but it would not go into hibernation after 15 minutes per the setting. The setting were the same for line power, and everyting worked fine; it went into standby and then hibernation.

After playing with the setting some, now it refuses to go into standby.

Is anyone else having similar problems with their X32 or other X30 series machines?

To the best of my knowledge the BatteryMaxiser has been replaced by the Power Manger. I'm using the default setting that came with my new machine. I have the Power Manger set to the scheme name "Maximun Battery Life: which is:

Maxium CPU speed: lowest
Display brightness: Leve 1 of 7
lower display brightness: none
Lower display refresh rate: 40 Hz after 3 minutes
Turn off display: after 5 minutes
Stop hard disk rotation: after 30 seconds
Enter system standby: after 15 minutes
Enter system hibernate after 20 mintes

When I go to the Powr Options Properties, the setting are the same except the turn off hard disk is blank, and the lowest option that I can choose is 3 minutes.

Hi Ray

Try setting it to another power setting, apply it and then choose the power setting you want...making sure to apply it. I've noticed that sometimes the setting may not take.
