thinkpad software installer doesn't work anymore!?!

the installer worked a few days ago, but now it says "The referenced memory could not be read at <> in <> everytime it went to "connecting to web service" . Press OK to terminate program.

I tried reinstalling the program, but it was to no avail. Any ideas?

If reinstalling didn't help then i might try changing the internet explorer connection settings, rebooting and changing them back to the right thing.

Have you installed a new web browser?

I have firefox, but i don't think its the cause ofthe problem. Any other ideas???
