X31 CPU Voltages (Centrino Hardware Control)

#1 Post by nolifer » Mon Jun 27, 2005 3:16 am

Have anyone tested how low you can set your cpu-voltage before it stops working?

With Centrino Hardware Control, you can change you cpu volts and lower your power consumption and heat dissipation.

I'm going to have X31 /w 1,4GHz Centrino this evening. I tested that program with my current laptop, and it's amazing piece of software ;)

After eight hours of prime95 and cpu @ 600MHz with 0,7 volts temperature only 48 degrees celsius and seems rock solid.

CPU runs now very cool and quiet, and got more time to play with battery :)

I went only as low as 6x - 0.764V but got into problems with playing DVD Movies ... Do you have the same problem? .....

i'd like to throw in a request that x40/1 users with a p-m 758 chime in on thier voltages.

so far..ive tested my 758 with 6 8 and 9.

6x = .7 stable
8x= .78 stable, 51c under full load
9x = .828, stable at first glance, 52c load.
*edit*
10x = .892 stable, 54c load
15x = .988v stable 65c load

I had to raise my volts because x31 started to hang-up and reboot.

Now using 0,748V. So good so far.
