what is the lcd connector on the x41 tablet

#1 Post by foura » Mon Dec 06, 2021 6:54 pm

hello,

i've gotten an old x41t from ebay, with everything but the lcd panel working. when plugged in to a monitor it boots up into windows xp. on dissasembly, i unscrewed the lcd flex cable to find that the female connector (on the motherboard side) was completely missing.

i've taken some pictures of the connector in my other x41t to see if anyone could help me figure out what it is so i can replace it. from reading the x41 (non-tablet) schematics i think it is some variety of molex slimstack but they don't seem to have one in the right size on their website.

From the 3rd picture in the link, it looks like some part of the LCD-cable-connector has become 'unsoldered/torn off and is 'stuck' in the motherboard connector.
If so, it should be easy to pop that out.
Then get maybe a new LCD-cable?

what do you mean?

all of those pictures are from the working laptop.
the problem i have is i need to know what kind of connector it is on the motherboard side,
so i can buy one and solder it to my broken laptop.

Couldn't really recognise at first that pic #3 was the LCD-cable connector...
The X41 (non-tablet) has a mobo LCD-connector marked: MLX-CONN40A-5 on its schematic.
Possibly the same as on X41T.
