heat issues on x32

#1 Post by nagender » Wed Jul 27, 2005 7:38 pm

Hi,
I got my X32 yesterday (1.8GHz 745). I am very impressed with the size and weight of this thinkpad. However, the laptop seems to get hot very easily. I went through the forum's views on related problems -- I used the CHC to set the voltage level to the lowest level. Even after this, the processor temparature under not so heavy conditions seems to be in the range of 48-50. Is this normal for X32? Can some one tell me if they also faced the same problem? How about the X40 -- how high does the temparatures of this laptop go?

best!!

My X40 is running from 43 - 45 degrees celcius. I think your X32 is working normally, as I'm using a LV processor.

No problems with heat on my X32. If you think yours is hot, go to an Apple store and feel the left palmrest on a 12" Powerbook. Then you will know what is hot and what is not.

While plugged in and using it lightly to moderately, my X32 runs at about 48-51. Agreed, it feels a little hot, but nothing like the scalding T30 I came from.

don't worry, my X40 becomes easily very hot too. Mainly in the summer now where 35-40 is outside.
Let's go'n'restart :-)
