X41 models are missing from Lenovo website!

#1 Post by asus13 » Fri Jul 29, 2005 8:01 pm

Where are all the X41 models on IBM/Lenovo website. They only have one model 2526NU listed. Where are the others!

They're not "missing". They just took them off the site. Look in tabook and order the model you want.

I guess the only option would be to select the ones you want off tabook and call for pricing.

Have you tried finding the model you want in the tabook and manually entering that model number in the quick buy box? That always works for me.

You can also try to enter the visa/mastercard site on:

http://www.ibm.com/businesscenter/visa - Visa
http://www.ibm.com/businesscenter/mastercard - Mastercard

Then click "Lenovo Thinkpad Thinkcentre store" under "PCs and PC accessories". Now click on "Notebooks" under "Products" and choose X Series. I fount 3 X41 models there, but have no time to check them.

Based on my experience, I would not order anything that was not in-stock. If you order an item in the tabook that is not in-stock, your probably looking at really long lead times. I ordered an X41 from IBM that was in the tabook (not on the website) and had to cancel my order after waiting over two months without ever receiving a ship date. From what I can tell, Lenovo is having a lot of trouble with Thinkpad production/delivery. Furthermore, based on my experience and things I've read in these forums, Lenovo may also be having quality problems. I had to return two X41's due to really bad fan noise problems. I've also read about problems with hard drives - mine in still working fortunately!

The models listed on the website fluctuate from time to time. When I ordered my X32, very few of them were listed. Now there are far more 32 models than 41 models there.

But as already mentioned, there are three X41 models listed on the credit card discount site right now, and all show either 2 or 2-4 weeks wait. No X models are currently in stock there.

If you want faster service, contact bill@thinkpads.com and see what X41 he has available.

Manaually entering the model from tabook into quic kuy box won't work either. It normally worked, but now it doesn't. Don't know why. I'm looking to buy 25286NU thru epp site.

I had been looking at ordering an X41 and the models disappeared from the website midstream. The sales rep told me that Lenovo has taken down all models with an Intel a/b/g wireless card because Intel has put a delay on those cards. Lenovo is trying to work it out with Intel and the models should be available again by mid-August. I put an order in anyway, and the sales rep was great -- very impressed.

The 25256NU has always been there, you just have to click on view all products under the X series page. The link I'm on now is http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... logId=-840

I've been checking it out for the last few weeks as I'm about to buy it. :)

Yes, that's the only model that stayed up on the web site. I ordered a 25256HU around the time it disappeared, and it has recently shipped so maybe the others will come back soon.

Could you please point me in the direction of the "quick buy box". I've found models that I want to price but after entering the model number, no dashes or spaces, into the "know that part number" box on the "ready to buy" page nothing comes up. I'm convinced I'm using the wrong search box.

What exactly do you mean by "not in stock"? I just ordered a 2525-6HU and the sales rep. I spoke to said it would ship in two weeks. Would you consider that in stock?
