X41 Moving Parts Inside PCMCIA Slots

#1 Post by LearningThinking » Sun Aug 21, 2005 7:42 pm

Hi,
I just noticed that there is a piece of shining steel sliding around inside the PCMCIA slot. This happens when I lift the left side, then lower the left side, then lift the right side.
When I plug in a PCMCIA card, however, it stops moving around.
The sliding steel is located near the edge of the laptop, i.e., below the right palm.
Is this normal?
Thanks a lot!

I have the same thing on my X40. So since we both have it, I'm going to guess that it's normal.

If you're talking about what I'm thinking, it's part of the mechanism for the PCMCIA card eject button.
