Pretty sure installing regular windows XP will not give you any tablet functionality at all. You need to install tablet PC edition.

As far as your tablet buttons, your tablet should have come with some kind of driver, or software to reenable your buttons, you would need to install that.

Sorry, I was not reading that you had an x41... The x41 comes with the resore software on a restore partition on the hard drive (Hopefully you did not repartition and kill this partition without making restore disks first). You should boot up into the BIOS and restore the system back to factory default to get the system back up and running.

the reason i install my own version of winxp is because the IBM WINXP have so many problems.

Only if i can get those tablets working

what sort of problems are you speaking about? I am on my x41 Tablet for a few weeks now and am loving it more everyday... I havn't had any problems with the Factory Installed version of XP Tablet 2005.

?????

It isn't going to work.
You need Windows XP Tablet Edition, and you can't start with regular XP and add pen extentions to it.
