Scam on Ebay for X41T's - I think

#1 Post by Orbitz » Thu Aug 25, 2005 4:06 pm

Think I found a scam on ebay on 2 X41T's...heads up :)

Here is the email I received:

Thank you for your email.
First of all I have to offer you some information's regarding the laptop we are selling. The laptop is brand new, never used, and it comes with manufacturer's warranty. We have it in all model, you will have to choose the right model for you.
The buy it now price is $900.00 and it is including the shipping and insurance charges. Secondly, we need to close a safe deal. I'm sure you agree with us that dealing through an escrow service which protects both is the best option for this kind of transaction. Escrow is the third party handling the transaction between seller and buyer.
For this trade we have chosen www.accessescrow.net escrow service.
We do the shipping same day your payment is confirmed. The units are shipped via FedEx or UPS and we pay for shipping, handling and insurance. If you are ready to order now, please reply soon with your full name and address, so we can contact the escrow company. There are many potential buyers for these products and our prices are available within the limit of our existing stock. Once you decide to order, you have 5 days for inspection and we accept that you can return the unit within 30 days in case you are not entirely satisfied.
Looking forward to dealing with you,

Anna

Now...I sent back an email saying I would agree to Escrow.com...they said no because of the fees...I replied saying I would pay the fees (keep in mind this machine is over $2k new so $900 is allready a scam number...but hey I was having some fun ). Thier response was NO DEAL hehe

So anyone heard of that escrow company?

They only take western union or bank wire transfer so they don't sound legit to me.
