How to fit X22/3/4 LCD to an X40 notebook?

#1 Post by mixa » Fri Sep 09, 2005 12:56 pm

I have a broken LCD on an X40 and an opportunity to purchase cheap X22 LCD screen. Does anyone have an idea on how difficult would it be to fit this screen on an X40? It must be possible to do this...

Thanks.

X22 != X40.

I'm sure the two LCDs use different connectors, for starters.

Second, I've got an X21 sitting in front of me. While the X21 and 22 use different LCDs, the assembly is the same size. I'd say that there's 1/2" of bezel around the LCD on this. Compare that to the X40 LCD, which probably has under 1/4" of bezel.

So, it wouldn't fit at all.

If the LCD can't physically fit, it is an obvious no-go. Connectors would prove to be a problem as well, but that could be resolved... or maybe not?

Thanks for youre reply. Other suggestions anyone :-(
