How to configure X40 for external LCD?

#1 Post by seba1 » Sat Sep 10, 2005 9:12 pm

Hi,

I've got a X40 and want to get an external LCD for it. I connected my laptop to a 19" in a store but the output was not very nice -- fonts hard to read, similar to a poor resolution on a printer. I adjusted the output resolution on the X40 but it didn't improve much.

Is that simply a problem of the configuration or is the graphics adapter in the X40 to weak to provide a good picture on a 19" display? If the former, how to adjust the settings?

Many thanks!

Seba

well, first thing:
go into "display properties/settings and make sure the resolution for the external display is set to its native resolution..
the problem seems to be that the external 19 inch display is using 1024x768 when its native resolution is probably 1200x1600 or 1280x1024 which would produce the results you describe..
