Posted this on tabletpcbuzz.com but wanted to post here also.
I have a Toshiba M205 (2ghz, 1.5gb RAM, 60gb) and I just got an X41 Tablet (1.5ghz, 1.5gb RAM, 40gb).
First impressions:
- the screen, while lower resolution 1024x768 is SO much easier to read. Very little glare at all and very bright.
- IBM really knows how to make keyboards - I love the thinkpad keyboard and it makes a huge difference.
- The X41 is NOT nearly as slow as I expected it to be (compared to the M205's faster processor and hard disk). In fact, I'd say the X41 actually seems snappier. Very little (if any) lag when using the pen.
I'm wondering if I made the wrong decision with the m205. Not to mention the X41 is significantly smaller and the battery life is MUCH better (> 5hrs).
Toshiba M200/5 vs IBM X41 Tablet
Sorry to diappoint you, but I agree with you...
X41T is MUCH better than M200/5, and the main reasons are weight and size. All other specs are similar. If you add the fact that IBM makes just better notebooks - you completely find that X41T is much better. The only positive for M200/5 is price - at least where I live toshiba's one is slightly cheaper.
I wanted to buy 12" size notebook, and when I thought about tablets I almost bought M200 or LG LT-20, but finally decided to patiently wait for X41T to come out.

No dissapointment here. The Toshiba is less than 30 days old and we should be able to return it to CDW. I'm going to play around with the X41 a bit more but I'm pretty much set on the Thinkpad.Yotam wrote:Sorry to diappoint you, but I agree with you...

You are correct about Thinkpad's just being a better laptop. The keyboard is better - the device is rock solid and everything feels "right" about it. Hard to explain but I feel like I have a workhorse with the Thinkpad whereas the Toshiba seems a bit gimicky with the funky utlities and flaky keyboard.
