X4 series HD performance stats
X4 series HD performance stats
Would some X4 series owners please benchmark their 'slow' HDs. I would like to get some stats for comparison purposes.
1. Identify X40, X41, X41T model
2. Identify size (or model) of HD
3. Run HD Tune http://www.hdtune.com/ and reply with their
a. Avg Transfer Rate
b. Access Time
c. Burst Rate
d. CPU Usage
Thank you.

There was already a HD-Tune test on X41 by Abexter from notebookreview.com
HD Tune Tests
Transfer rate min: 2.2 MB/sec
Transfer rate max: 19.5 MB/sec
Transfer rate average: 15.6 MB/sec
Access time: 28.2ms
Burst rate: 68.2 MB/sec
CPU usage: 26.2%

Thanks. I had read that article but missed the message postings with the hdtune info. For what its worth, on my Hitachi 7K60 in my Dell, my stats are
Transfer rate min: 16.8 MB/sec
Transfer rate max: 37.3 MB/sec
Transfer rate average: 28.4 MB/sec
Access time: 15.2ms
Burst rate: 54.5 MB/sec
CPU usage: 11.7%
I didn't see in the article whether the 20G, 30G, 40G or 60G was being tested. I would still appreciate some stats for the 40G and 60G ... I would think the stats would differ somewhat based on the size and it would let us know which one was quicker of the 4200 models?
Thanks.

Dear All
It is first time for me to post here.
of course the C4k60-60G version will be better than the C4k60-40G version
just like the condition in
5k100-100G will be better than 5k100-60G or
7k100-100G will be better than 7k100-80G
because hard disk density are different in those two HD...though the same model number
In hard disk, not only the RPM, but the density are the factors of performance.
only FULL version can achieve the MOST performance.
in fact u may also use some math here to estimate that but pretty roughly
C4K60 has two plates, each plate with 30G
as 5K100/7K100 has two plates also, each plate with 50G
