Hello,

Hitachi TravelStar C4K60 Series. 4200rpm, IDE interface. You can see a lot information about this series, including Hitachi web site, on the other thread in this forum that is dealing with the HDD clicking problem and cache.

Ok for the C4K60, 4200rpm.

Do you know if there is a 5400rpm or 7200rpm model available for X40 ?

(4200rpm is a little bit slow to react...)

no - only the 4200 rpm version and hitachi is currently the only manufacturer which produces the 1.8" drives used in the x40 series.

If you want a faster drive in an X series, go for the X32. It can take any 2.5" PATA drive.
