Wireless for X41T - Intel or IBM/Aetheros?

#1 Post by ZPrime » Thu Sep 29, 2005 1:45 pm

The subject says it all... I'm looking at two of the top-of-line X41Ts, the 18666TU and the 18666SU. Both have the same options, except the 6SU uses Intel a/b/g wireless (and is thus "Centrino") while the 6TU uses the IBM a/b/g with Aetheros chipset.

My T42p has IBMs wireless in it and I have been happy with it, but I got IBM because at the time Intel didn't have an a/b/g solution. (A is a requirement for me, so it was IBM or nothing at the time.) Have people been having more problems with Intel or Aetheros drivers/hardware? IS one or the other better for use with netstumbler/etc?

Thanks in advance...

I've heard of too many problems with the Intel to recommend it.

Just my two cents...
