Thanks I just ordered 2 of them to test them out. I hope I can write on them ok. It beats spending $100 with shipping for just 1 of the WriteShield that I was about to order.

Just a quick comment. I am a fan of the Write Shield protectors. They are a little more than most; however, one protector is $59.99, not $99.99 (that's the price for two). Also, they include everything you need to successfully install and maintain your screen, not just the protector.

The Kit includes:

One WriteSHIELD™ AG screen protector, four KlearScreen Wet Single packs, 3.25" horse-hair brush, applicator, two Optical quality MicroFiber cloths, 2oz bottle of Klear Screen Cleaner and fully illustrated instructions.

Is that worth an extra $45? Pehaps not, but it's more than just a screen protector for the price difference.

The screen protectors have always lasted over a year and have a very nice paper feel to them.

Just another opinion. Best of luck.

Hey Fred, thanks for the reply.

I live in Canada so I can't order it off the regular site without paying rediculous shipping. They do have a reseller in Canada, www.handheldcanada.com, but they are out of stock on the 1 and 2 packs of the WriteShield right now.

The price at www.handheldcanada.com for the single pack is $72 CAD + 8% GST + $19.99 CAD shipping + 8% GST on shipping = $98.43 CAD for a single protector.

I would have probably even ordered it if they were in stock, but since they arent, I have no choice other than to go wtih the cheaper ones. I found a store downtown that sells 12" protectors made for Macs, but I'm gonnna go check out if they fit on my tablet. It will be good till the better fitting ones come.

Adam,

I just ordered a couple of BStrong ones. Order 2 to make the shipping hit a little less as they do wear out in time (or you might want to replace them if they get scratched). Ive heard good things about the BStrong protectors and they seemed to fit the niche between price and quality. Plus they are specifically measured for the X41. Shipping to the Tdot will take a week or so.

Thanks defiant. I ordered 2 of them.

Today I went to a store and bought a pack of Macally protectors which are made for a 12" iBook but fit pretty well. The problem is there is a strip of adhesive on the top, which leaves residue if the protector shifts around while in place. If its placed on and taken off without moving, it doesn't leave anything.

The BStrong looks like it has the same adhesive, but around all 4 corners. Does it leave anything on the screen?

I'm wasting a ton of money on this stuff. I ordered 2 from BStrong and 2 from Protectcovers.com to make sure I get at least 1 that works nicely. These [censored] macally ones cost me $30 for 3 today and they are pretty much useless as I don't want any residue left on my screen.

Any info is appreciated. Oh and defiant... if you live in the tdot, maybe we can split on stuff like this next time you and i need to order anything. Shipping is killer. If you ever want to split on a 2 pack of the WriteShield ones let me know, that might save us a bit of money for a good quality non-adhesive protector.

Adam,

I'll let you know what they are like when I get it. I plan on keeping a protector on the screen 99% of the time so the glue isnt an issue as much for me. From what I have read, it doesnt leave much, if any , residue though, but we'll see once we have them.

Sure, splitting on shipping would be decent. You can always drop me a PM or whatever. Lets see how the BStrong ones fare and go from there.

Sounds good. I should have my BStrong on Tuesday I think. I shipped Fedex cause it was only $4 more. Another thing im worried about the BStrong ones is the fact that the glue isnt perfectly transparent. Lets hope it's not an issue.

Hey defiant... did you ever get the BStrong covers? I ordered them on the 12th of October and still haven't gotten anything. I emailed the seller 6 days ago and he never responded to me. I filed a Paypal dispute form because this is rediculous.

Hey Adam,

Yeah, I received mine last week. I had to call them to find out what was going on. They were a little backlogged so they weren't shipped out until the week of the 25th. FYI, they are also sent global priority, NOT UPS or Fedex(those options are only for US residents). I spoke the the owner and advised him that it wasn't clear on the website.

I ordered two and one of them came damaged. I contacted the owner and he is going to send me another one global priority so I should have the replacement this week.

So far, they aren't too bad. I like the drag on my pen with the protectors on. The only downside Ive seen is that they are a little reflective. Ive had to turn the brightness up (from the lowest) to level 3 to try and combat the reflectiveness. But I think its a minor gripe. I think its the best solution for the money.

Defiant,

I e-mailed him on Nov. 1st asking what is going on. He never responded, so today I filed a complaint with Paypal to get my money back. I'm not going to call this guy and beg for my product; he has very poor service if he won't respond to an e-mail in 6 days and can't get a product out to you within 1 MONTH of payment. EBay sellers in Hong Kong have faster shipping speeds via regular mail than this guy.

I rather just get my money back then deal with this. I got the protectors from protectcovers.com and they are fine for now.

Yeah, I hear ya. There isn't an excuse for not replying to emails. If I didn't have free long distance with my VOIP I would have just issued a chargeback too.

I got them today so I cancelled my paypal complaint.

It's still low of him to take the $8 for Fedex and send via USPS. Not good business practice that's for sure. The difference is only $3 but it's rude still.

edit: just replaced the protectcoveres.com one with this one. they seem to be identical except for the size of the BStrong one is much more precise. The protectcovers one was abit too narrow and a bit too long. This one fits perfectly.

The seller may have done you a favor shipping USPS. I hear the Fedex and UPS brokerage charges for shipping into Canada are absolutely appalling.

Yeah, UPS's brokerage fee's are totally insane. I've payed $60 CAD brokerage fees for an $80 USD product before.

The reason I wanted it FedEX was that I just got my tablet and didn't think about getting a screen protector before hand... so I wanted it ASAP. I thought that FedEX would have been the fastest.

He still shouldn't charge the money for FedEX when he doesn't ship it. It's the buyers decision.

No, he shouldn't. Either way it's good to see that you eventually received your screen protectors.
