Hey guys. I got the tablet sleeve with my x41t. It seems to be high quality and nicely designed.... except for a major major problem with the front piece of plastic.
Not only is it really lumpy... making it hard to write (the pen will hit the surface when im not expecting it to), but there is also a part of the fabric part that covers up the screen itself. When in portrait mode, its really hard to hit the X in Windows to close a window.
Does anyone know if IBM will do anything about this for me? I'm gonna try giving them a call tomorrow to see.
Here's a pic to illustrate what I'm talking about. (The plastic part is removable, thats why you don't see the full case in this pic.)

The yellow line represents the borders of the screen. The red obviously shows where the problem is.
Any thoughts?

i think that they will offer to either replace or refund..
the only time i used mine with the plastic on i found it a bit difficult to draw on but became accustomed to it..
then i removed the plastic and it works fine..

It's too bad. I wonder if this was a mistake or done on purpose for some reason. It seems like it would be pretty hard to make such an obvious mistake.defiant wrote:Adam,
Same deal here re. plastic. Right now Im not using the sleeve. I removed the plastic and put it under some heavy books in hopes that it will smooth out a bit. As far as the X's go, Ive read that it s a common problem. Workaround is to use alternate ways to close a window/program.
I called IBM just to see if it was just mine or just the way the sleeve is. The rep had to get back to me, here's his email:
I won't bother calling or anything. I'll just stick with it, especially since it came as part of a package. It's too bad though, if the plastic was better, it would be an amazing sleeve.Hi [Adam],
I contacted the Thinkpad Brand Manager regarding the sleeve issue, and I was told that it is a limitation.
The workaround is to rotate the screen on the other side using the appropriate button.
If that solution is not appropriate for you, please contact the Lenovo sales department to discuss the issue with a sales representative.
