X30 Hibernation issue

#1 Post by Grimace11 » Sun Oct 23, 2005 9:01 pm

I have a strange problem with my X30 that happens randomly when the machine resumes from hibernation. The problem is that when the computer resumes, the display is all weird. The best way to describe it is like the resolution is somehow screwed up, you can kind of make out some part of the windows desktop but the rest is sort of all off the screen, and at the same time everything is squashed and garbled. Basically the only way to fix it is to reboot, which is really annoying, partically if I have hibernated during the middle of my work and I now can't save it!
As i said, it doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes. I have the latest drivers, Windows updates, BIOS etc, and this has been happening for as long as I can remember!
I was just interested whether anyone else had a similar problem - i couldn't find any mention on the IBM support pages...

hibernation problems?

#2 Post by djb25 » Mon Oct 24, 2005 10:49 pm

Hi,

Just wanted to say that I've never run into any problems with my X30 exiting hibernation mode - except when I got ahold of a bad memory chip... so that might be worth considering.
