There it is. Any commentS?
UPS is going to rape you, fellow Canadian. Expect to pay another $800-$1000, maybe even more, unless you can get the seller to send via USPS.

UPS charges insane custom fees. Just insane.

Something I would buy that is $100 could easily come with $90 in fees.

I'll see if I can find a list of the fees but it's something like:

GST
PST
Brokerage which is a fee based on package value
handling charge
collection fee
GST on the above three charges

All fees are calculated on the USD converted to Canadian Dollars (+2%).

Actually, it won't be too bad.

GST + PST = 282.28
Brokerage = 65.00
Collecting Brokerage Charges = 4.25
GST on fees = 4.85
Disbursement (2.7%) Fee = 9.62
~= $366 + $106.19 (price to pay seller shipping cost) CDN
+= $472.19 ontop of purchase price

Not that bad. It's a higher percent on less expensive items:

For example, $100 USD item (118 CDN)
GST + PST = 17.7
Brokerage = 28.30
Collecting Brokerage Charges = 4.25
GST on fees = 3.52
Disbursement (2.7%) Fee = 1.45
~= 55.22 CDN on a 100 USD item - plus shipping cost you pay seller

Now, if you were able to get the seller to send via USPS (Canada Post), you will get charged

- $25-$40 USD to the seller
- GST + PST
- $5 CDN handling fee / $8 CDN if it came by EMS

Compare that with UPS.

You could have said all that in one message!

Btw, I agree. Avoid UPS at all costs.
