I love my X41T(ablet)
Hi,
I just received the X41T yesterday and I love it. I currently own a T42 but this thing is fantastic. Great keyboard, so light even with the long lasting 8-cell battery. I'm still learning the tablet features. I have it hooked in with Verizon Wireless PC Data card for broadband whereever I am within Verizon's EDVO markets (I'm in Manhatten). I get 450kbps download and 50 kbps upload. It's a great feeling having this laptop and being truly mobile small laptop and cell phone.
I added 1 GB of RAM for total of 1.5 GB and also purchased the USB 2.0 multi-burner which is nice.
The unit is the 1866-6SU. I had ordered the 1866-6TU but I was sent the other unit (long story). The 6TU uses the Atheros (IBM) wireless card and the 6SU uses the Intel. Happily, they both appear to perform equally well.
Also, I don't think the hard drive and boot time is so bad. I have 60GB hard drive because I want to dual boot with Linux. To me, this unit is very responsive.

dfumento,
I have a similar laptop, 1866-6TU. And like I just love the laptop. I finally did a clean install and removed the bloat ie Norton, that Planner etc.. It works great and the load time was cut in half. I don't mind the hard drive speed at all since I also have the T42p for more intensive programs. BTW made made you pick the SU over the TU? I heard the atheros card is better than the intel card.

Hi Dragonfly, as I said in my original post I wanted the 6TU but was sent the 6SU. I got a special quote from a manager and he quoted me that unit and not the 6TU and so sales ordered that unit. No big deal as I see the performance is roughly the same. Now I have the Centrino label.
I love this machine!

Yes, mouse pointer is jumpy during boot only. I have no problems with clicking drive.
The keyboard is excellent!

Hi,
I have the 1866-6TU and I did a clean install. I usually wait for the system to boot completely, meaning I wait until the hard drive light stops blinking. I don't have a problem after that. What I usually do is hibernate. It takes just half the time to come back from it and no mouse problems. I only restart once every couple of days.
hope that helps
