Very pleased with my new X40 replacement

#1 Post by red bioroid » Tue Dec 06, 2005 12:46 am

I got my new X40 as a second order to replace one with a dead pixel. I'm extremely pleased to say that this one is Insanely great and PERFECT.

I've went ahead and replaced the 20GB HD with a 60GB. What do I do with that 20GB as I have no desire to use it as a portable storage?

I've also format and reinstall WinXp and just love the auto software download. The only 2 issues I have are

1) Where do I get the USB 2.0 driver to get my port to be 2.0, as I've lost the preloaded drivers?
2) How do I get the Access IBM button to work in WinXP Pro as I've already reinstalled Access IBM but the buttom still doesn't work, am I missing an App?

Any help is appreciated for this happy camper..... :D

(Mikey; it's time you dump that Toshiba for a professional grade laptop)

Have you installed the software installer?

If not, get it here:

Yes, I've did that. The software installer doesn't get all the drivers it seems. Am I suppose to look for a particular name filed as I've looked and can't find any. My System>Device Manager still has USB 2.0 in yellow exclamation!!

usb 2.0 is automatically installed with winxp sp1 or higher. u should not have that yellow sign if that is the case.

What is Windows response with the yellow exclamation? Is it a device conflict?

You might be able to update the drivers from the "properties" under this entry, if you let it connect to the internet.
