Problem using T42 4.5 Amp AC Adapter with X31?

#1 Post by Aristotle11 » Fri Dec 16, 2005 7:45 pm

Hi,

I've been using my T42 AC adapter (16v, 4.5A) on my X31 which normally takes a 16v, 3.5A adapter. It seems to work OK. Is the extra amperage OK for the X31?

Thanks,
Aris

My x22 came with a 16v 4.5a ac adapter.

I sometimes use the 16v 3.5a ac adapter that came with my 770 if I am away from the house. (it stays in my bag).

For me it has worked great, although the 3.5a adapter obviously doesn't charge the battery as quickly.

Electrical devices draw; power supplies do not push. So a larger adapter is fine. A smaller adapter than specified can overheat and can be damaged. Just not a good practice in my opinion. ... JD Hurst

So the 4.5 amp one is fine on the T42 and X31, but the 3.5 is only Ok for the X31?
