custom paint, palm rest

I had this idea. After scruffing the palm rest area trying to peel the stickers off (yes i should have read, yes i shouldn't have pulled the trigger) too late. So i had this idea, buying a new palm rest for a backup and using the old palm rest for a custom paintjob.
Was thinking of taking it in to a professional to do some army colors on it, maybe a dark grey, light grey, and black combo..
