X41T imaging with PXE & Altiris

#1 Post by Tazzy » Fri Jan 27, 2006 8:48 am

Somehow I can't get altiris to image my X41.

Everytime I boot into PXE it quickly defaults to local boot and returns to WinXp. We use altiris for deployment and imaging of desktop pc's and thin clients without any problems.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

An image would really help me out with deployment en testing with saflink software for the biometric scanner.

I just found out that starting the job while in windows doesn't work.
The job starts without problems when I start the job from altiris while the laptop waits in the F12 screen 8)

I'm a little further, PXE boot into Altiris didn't go as expected.

The PXE client keeps retrying to connect while doing a "record update request from client". This is basicly an endless loop. An Altiris forum suggested that I should press F2 to enter diagnostics.

F2 is nothing more than the network share that Altiris uses. What really surprised me is that when I change directory to RDeploy and start RDeploy.exe I can start a manual image job.

Next step is system recovery with this image :D
