Blinking Orange Battery Led

Hi all,
I have a x20 (using Windows XP) and the battery was dead few months ago. I was able to start up the computer with the AC Adaptor before. However, starting last week, i have blinking orange battery led WITH or WITHOUT the battery. I am not sure it's the AC adaptor problem or something else. The computer will crash when the battery led starts blinking. I only have this laptop, so i am not able to test my AC adaptor. Thanks~
