X41 doesn't support the Thinkpad On Screen Display features?

#1 Post by Bdave » Mon Feb 06, 2006 5:40 am

I used to work on a T41 and pressing the Vol up or Down or muting key, or even changing brightness would bring a green indication on the screen.
I can't find that anymore on my recently purchased X41.

Normal Behaviour ? Missing a driver or software ?

The TPONSCR.EXE process is responsible for the on-screen display. It should be located somewhere on your HD, usually inside IBMTOOLs (in one of the subdirectories). If from some reason it doesn't autostart, you can add it manually to the registry.

I have searched for the mentionned file and :

Launching any of these .exe brings a small Fn icon on the bottom :

But that doesn't activate the desired function.

Anyone else got the same problem ? Any other idea ?
